Campus tree inventory completed
1/92 Arborteum Advisory Committee formed.
2/92 Tree identification plaques with susquicentennial logo chosen for placement on 150 significant trees.
5/92 Adoption of proposed Arboretum Villanova logo and mission statement. Both to be submitted to the administration for approval.
8/92 Rev. Edmund J. Dobbin, O.S.A., President affixes first tree plaque.
9/92 Dedication of Susquicentennial "Villanova" Memorial Garden.
9/93 150 tree identification plaques installed in celebration of Villanova University's Susquicentennial celebration.
4/28/93 Formal dedication of Arboretum Villanova. One day celebration with education programs, dedication ceremony, planting of arboretum tree, and luncheon to celebrate the official begining of Arboretum Villanova. Self guided tour map for Arboretum available to public.
8/93 32 trees planted representing 18 species. 5 memorial trees planted.
2/94 Jim McKee staff Arborist gains Certified Arborist status from International Society of Arboriculture. 250 trees planted representing 6 species.
7/95 Creation of (2) 1 mile self-guided walking tours on main campus.
25 trees planted representing 6 species.
5/96 "Ryan's Way" Project - major redesign and planting of main entrance began. Supported by generous donation of Nancy Ryan.
7/96 All trees on campus labeled with Botanical name ID tags.
11/96 Campus landscape master plan began with Andropogen Associates Ltd.
15 trees planted representing 4 species.
