Work Control Center

The Work Control Center is the communications hub for the Facilities Management Office, handling well over 10,000 requests per year and receiving all electronic mail messages sent to facilities-mgmt.

If you have an emergency or require immediate assistance, please call our Work Control Center at 519-4420 during normal business hours (7:30 am through 4:00 pm M-F). After hours please contact the Department of Public Safety at 519-6979.

Home To request information or non-emergency services, we ask that you use our online Service Request System. Additional questions and information may be directed to our Work Control Center during normal business hours (7:30 am through 4:00 pm M-F).

Our service team is:

A service request may be submitted to us in one of the following ways:

  • The Service Request Form (you must use a forms capable browser)
  • Fax your request to the Service Center 519-6903
  • Send an email request to facilities-mgmt
  • Mail a memorandum to the Facilities Service Building attention Work Control.

Request Process

  1. Upon receipt of the request, the Work Control Center will relay the information to the appropriate shop or service unit.
  2. A determination will be made whether the project is normal maintenance (non-billable) or departmental service (billable).
  3. The Work Control Center will then notify the requesting department of the project's billable or non-billable status and a cost estimate, if any, for the proposed project.
  4. A work order number will be assigned.
  5. The shop or service unit will contact the requesting department, if necessary, and set a schedule to complete the work.
